Motions are a strategic tool that can be used in a variety of ways to improve outcomes in Louisiana Child in Need of Care (CINC) cases. Filed by an attorney or party, a motion seeks a specific order of the court. Department of Children and Family Services caseworkers, CASA volunteers and supervisors, parties, and providers may be called as witnesses at motion hearings. Our presenters will provide information to all stakeholders about motions that may be used in CINC cases, such as motions related to visitation (family time), education, services, and modification of disposition.
